Full BIO: Ed Rosenthal is the author and editor of more than a dozen books on marijuana cultivation and social policy that have cumulatively sold over one million copies. His newest book, “Cannabis Grower’s Handbook,” is an authoritative and comprehensive guide to cultivating marijuana and hemp, including the latest techniques and technologies. He has been a pioneering cannabis legalization activist for decades, and has served as an expert witness for federal, state, and civil marijuana cases.
In 1999 Ed was deputized as an officer of the City of Oakland, where he oversaw starter plant operations so that medical patients could grow their own marijuana. His ensuing highly publicized legal challenges have shifted public opinion in favor of state medical marijuana laws.
Ed is a cofounder of High Times Magazine, and is the founder of many successful socially responsible cannabis organizations, including Quick American Publishing, focused on continuously researching and publishing the most accurate, up to date cannabis education; Quantum 9, a marijuana consulting and technology company; Green Aid: The Medical Marijuana Legal Defense and Education Fund, a 501(c)(3); the International Cannabis Business Conference; and the Wonders of Cannabis Festival.
